The NADA EV Expo which started on September 22 is concluding today. The first edition of the EV Expo is hosting a total of 51 brands, including nine four-wheelers, one three-wheeler, sixteen two-wheelers and other auto components.Although the participation of electric cars is limited, they are still a firm favourite at the ongoing expo. Consumer preference for electric vehicles (EVs) is growing even stronger. The ongoing NADA EV Expo has not only become a platform for brand display or product purchase but it is also providing an opportunity for the general public and the concerned stakeholders of the industry for resource sharing.Deepak Thapaliya, General Manager of Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd., says that he received a lot of inquiries from visitors at the NADA EV Expo. "Customers have now become aware. They ask about the range, battery life, ownership cost and how many DC charging stations there are, rather than the discount," said Thapaliya.
Similarly, Umesh Shrestha, Executive Director of Green Electro Mobility Service, says that customers' impression of EVs has recently increased. "Customer demand for electric cars is very good. They are asking a lot of questions not only about the vehicle but also about the infrastructure, the vehicle, the range, etc.," he added.
Likewise, Anup Kumar Baral, NADA EV Expo coordinator, said that the objective of the NADA EV Expo had been fulfilled. The main purpose of the expo is to spread public awareness rather than sell cars. "The businessmen who were eager to book vehicles at the auto show in the past years are more than happy to explain EV to the general public this time," he added.
